Bluntisham Village Hall, Mill Lane, Bluntisham PE28 3LR
Completed in 2005, the village hall is modern, bright, spacious and well maintained community building. It opens onto the village recreation fields on one side and onto the cricket pitch on the other via patio doors from two of the rooms in the hall. This outdoor space enables us to offer the combination of both indoor and outdoor events. We even have a community marquee so that we can offer the maximum amount of flexibility, especially in the summer months.
The Hall
The main hall can comfortably seat 100 with the additional two rooms offering additional seating or room for a bar and a buffet. It also has a dancing capacity of 200 meaning that all of those distant relatives can have an invite! The hall also has a fully equipped professional kitchen with crockery, cutlery and glassware for 100 place settings.
The hall comes with free Wi-Fi and internet access. The hall has two disabled toilets, a shower and as the hall is all on one level, easy access via the entry ramps at the main door and side doors. There is ample parking for 40 cars at the hall, with another car park at the bottom of Mill Lane and also an overflow alternative should it be required.
Business Events
The variety and flexibility of the main hall and the two meeting rooms, mean that we can cater for all types of conferences, business meetings and training days. There is a minimum number of delegates for our conference rate. We aim to offer a relaxed, comfortable setting and can provide a variety of refreshments throughout the day. We have all the presentation and other business equipment here in the hall for you; projector, screen, flip charts, hearing loop, disabled access and facilities, free Wi-Fi and internet access. If you have any specific requirements we are always happy to see how we can help.
Special Occasions & Parties
The hall offers a lovely setting for a wedding reception, particularly in the summer when the marquee can be used to extend the event outside. We have happily catered for weddings of up to 100 reception guests and 200 in the evening. We are also able to offer to dress the hall using white drapes subject to an additional cost.
The hall offers a great location for children’s parties and a reduced party hire rate on Saturday’s from 1 – 4pm of £60 offers great value. Other times are available but at the normal hourly rate.
Other activities
The hall is home to the local football and cricket teams with both the junior and senior teams using it as their base. Indoor dance, ballet, modern and acro classes for children and adults and badminton, Pilates & HIIT for the adults. You can take part in French Lessons and other community events are also held in the hall.
The hall has a marquee which can be hired out for a small cost or is available FOC for any community event in the village.
The David Morris Community Room
In 2022, the Parish Council recognised the need to renovate what was then the old changing rooms building, with work starting in early 2023, primarily funded using Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) funds and parish council reserves. A grant from the Mick George Community Fund allowed us to put windows, heating, and soundproofing into the building in 2024 to make it useable year-round. Finally, in 2025, solar panels and WiFi were installed to fully modernise this new community space.
The hall was named after David Morris, who lived on the High Street with his wife Jane for over 30 years. David was a Feoffee and was involved with community events and projects within the village. David sadly passed away in 2023 and as the building is on Feoffees land, it seemed a fitting tribute to mark his involvement with the charity and name the building in his memory.
The interior is fitted with soundproofing, and is furnished with tables and chairs which originally came from the National Gallery! There is a small kitchenette/utility area for making drinks and washing up, as well as toilets including disabled access.
The room benefits from free WiFi and electric heaters, with the new solar panels increasing the room’s energy efficiency.
The community room is suited to a variety of purposes, from business meetings to community group events, and can also serve as additional space for the village hall if booked together.
